First driving experience in Spain

Form the air port we have to get to the high way and going down south. Their high way is nice constructed and also have nice scenery along a road side toward Canillas de Albaida. Unfortunately I can not enjoy the scenery so much as I was so tend on my driving. I only glance from time to time.

Once the road turn off from the high way and start to go up the hill side, thing started to get shaky. The road is quite narrow and wildly. I had to accelerate the engine as we were going up the  on coming toward also in a high speed with help of gravity. On the side road is a cliff. I didn't think of anything just Concentrate.

I found one video on You Tube that was taken on the same route that I had been driving. So you get the idea what the road looks like.

Jim shared his experience that one time he had to get off the car and walk instead when he traveled via this road as he got a car sick badly. So I took my driving for granted if not I will be a passenger and I know that will be worst thing of a trip. Car sick!

Casa Susana in Spain

My first trip to Spain in December 2011 was exciting and lots of new learning experiences. Started off right from Malaga Air port when Jim decided to have me  as a driver for a hire car to Canillas de Albaida

Canillas de Albaida
I felt scared  deep inside  but with his trust I had to be brave  and put my self on the show. Shock gradually developed into thrill as things went  alright  after I got on the road and maneuver the vehicle OK.

All I needed  was a reminder from Jim that I should  stay on the right rather than  the left that I drive on in  Thailand.
The navigator (Jim)  also had a hard job to do as he had to check on the  map and watch for what the  driver does, so sometimes the direction has come later after the driver already had made a quick decision on the turn after spot a sign.

Every time I drive  oversea I feel very special and feel good of myself as  it is not an everyday life thing so I keep concentrate and appreciate what life has to offer.

I didn't know how far I had driven  but It took me over an hour to get there. The road is narrow and windy along the hill side. I don't like to look down the the cliff so much as it made me a cold feet. Luckily I was in the right lane and the cliff is along on the left.

When we got to Canillas de Albaida, It was a big challenge for us to find Casa Susana . ( check out the link). Every house look almost the same, the road seems to be a path to me. It was a the narrowest road that I ever been on and we even end up with that there is no way we can get through the road as it is not enough room for the car.

If you can not imagine how narrow of the road is , think about the width of road that only one (small) car can pass. There is no way that 2 cars can pass in this single lane so we just had to take chance to get through each road and some road will just too narrow that the can not get through. Can you imagine how to turn a car back?

Eventually we made it to Casa Susana where Jim had not been there for years and that was his first time to visit his new home.

Lot of times when we back home from walk. We couldn't find Casa Susana as we could not locate ourselves (LOL) So I don't need to mention what happen if we were not sober!

From top view we can see the land mark but once we are down the road , again we cannot see the land mark as it was blocked and we have to try few time to get out of the maze. Every thing almost look identical. Same color of house ( only white) and same roof top color.

It will be soon that we will be there again for a second time and I can smell the smoke of the adventure already.
